A man treatens a judge, and now will be sentenced by the judge he threatened????
In Chilton County Alabama, a man was arrested for making a threat towards a judge, and now will be sentened by that judge. This would be like me getting threatened by someone and then being aloud to determine their punishment, nope don't think it would ever happen for any of us to get a chance to do this or Sibley Reynolds himself would be strung up by his balls.
Sibley has put himself in a very tight position by handing down crazy sentences, and not to mention the many children he has placed in bad environments. I think if he doesn't start acting like a judge it will only get worse for him, a judge is suppose to uphold the laws and not create new ones. A judge is suppose to be someone we respect for upholding the laws. Granted this person should not have been making threats to anyone, he still should not be punished by the person he threatened. A judge in this position should automatically recuse himself from the case, it is the right thing to do. Can Sibley be unbiased towards this man after he has made a threat on his life, Heck no!! he can't I don't even think I could be, but I am a straight up person, and would right away recuse myself in this matter. As you can see from the other posts about judge Reynolds, he will not do the right thing in this matter. This to me is highly unethical, and should be dealt with accordingly by the judiciary. This man will not be given a fair trial under the United States Constitution if he is sentenced by the person he threatened, and this is just not right.
A 38-year-old Verbena man is in custody after allegedly threatening Circuit Court Judge Sibley Reynolds.
Charles Mefford will appear before District Judge Rhonda Hardesty for arraignment Friday morning for charges of making terrorist threats, a class C felony, against Reynolds.
Reynolds presided over a case involving Mefford's mother, Linda Mefford who is the former director of the Prattville-Autauga Humane Society. Linda Mefford was convicted in June for first-degree and third-degree theft charges after she allegedly took money from the humane society adoption fees, which were paid in cash, and had checks cut to reimburse her for lawn services that were not provided.
"We take security of our courthouse personnel very seriously," District Attorney Randall Houston said. "It is never wise for anyone to threaten and officer of the court, most escpecially a presiding judge in the 19th Circuit. I appreciate the Autauga and Chilton County Sheriff's Offices and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation for their quick response and professional multi-jurisdictional handling of this case."
Mefford is scheduled to be sentenced by Reynolds in Autauga County on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
RE:A man treatens a judge, and now will be sentenced by the judge he threatened????
Its quite rare case i have seen till now, it’s sometimes the god will allow the people for the judgment, but most of the times it will not happened. I think the judge has done a good thing, since no body should threat the higher official of the country like this. I think its good judgment made by the judge itself.

yell just waite till you go to court in front of judge alfred bahackel and a so called offcer named matthew mcgill of jefferson county alabama court then tell me ehat you think about the justic system its f***** *p
This Guy did not do this. His future Ex is trying to take his kid and this is how she plans on doing it. Guess who the Judge will be as well.. Rynolds.
Should a Judge preside over a case where his church members come before him?
There is not one sole out there who could honestly tell me they could be unbiased in a case if they where the judge and their church members came before them. How does a case get called on the docket to a particular judge who in fact "knows" those in the case personally? It's a crooked system that's how... It is a slap disgrace to the judicial system when a judge cannot do the right thing and tell those he knows I cannot preside over this case. It is the right and fair thing to do and the judicial process is suppose to be about fairness and justice, but how can we obtain both if the judges know one side of the case. This is impossible to achieve when the judge is friends with one side of the case it doesn't really matter if the other side has the best attorney money can buy because you are a loser from the get go.
How about Sibley's son who in fact shot through the home of a couple in Chilton County and could have killed or possibly injured someone in the process. Well you won't hear that he has to serve any time because his father is a judge in Chilton County. As a matter of fact Sibley asked court house clerk Theresa in front of witnesses that if anyone asked where his son was at the time of the shooting to tell them he was with her son. Really, does this sound like someone who is honest and fair and could be fair to others inside his court room? No, nothing about this judge is at all fair within the judicial system. I wish those who have to appear before him the best of luck, because I know it will take a miracle for Sibley to abide by the systems laws.
Re: RE:A man treatens a judge, and now will be sentenced by the judge he threatened????
What are you saying? I don't think someone should be threatened, however, I don't think a judge should attempt to sentence the mother of the guy who threatened him. I mean good judgement on the judge's part would have been to immediately remove himself from the case because it was not only the right thing, but the professional thing to do. Judge Reynolds only recused himself after the media heard of his plans to go forward and sentence Charles Mefford's mother. Why would this judge wait until sentencing to recuse himself? He is a crooked judge that's why....
When will this end? I know for a fact that the Attorney General's office is looking into this judge. But will they do anything? I doubt it. How many more peoples lives will be destroyed by Judge Reynold's lack of ethics before someone int he State of Alabama, including Gov. Riley will do something about this judge. He needs to be impeached. It is time for someone to take a stand and DO SOMETHING!!!!
I don't think anyone can reassure us of anything they are doing to correct the problems we are facing with this judge. I find this so interesting that this judge has remained on the bench for over 15 years, and I cannot imagine how many lives he has ruined. Was there not a time that anyone wanted to run against him or did he pay them not to or threaten them not to run? I think the people of these counties he presides over have to turn their faith over to the Attorney General and pray he does the right thing by these counties. The most any of us can do is get out and talk and make people aware of what is going on in our judicial system before it fails completely. It really sickens me to know that our system has gotten this far out of control when a judge can speak about cases outside of court to the other party. What did any of us do to deserve this type of unfairness? How can they not be aware of the things that the public has seen this judge do, if they in fact are investigating him at all? If I can see it, then they know about it already. This judge acts as though he can do anything he wants, and so far he has been right. The taxpayers of Alabama are paying investigators and these investigators need to in fact start showing us they are worth our hard earned money. I don't want what this judge is doing and has done to be swept under the rug, he derserves the same treatment he has dealt others and that is public humiliation. He has allowed those attorney's to stand up in his court and say horrible misconceptions about the other party without the evidence and this is liable, slander, and defaming someone's character. Elizabeth Hilyer attorney at law...hahaha, what a joke she is to the legal system, is the attorney he let stand before him and never once did he stop her from talking bad about the other party, this was the most unprofessional work I had ever seen an attorney do. Whether Judge Reynolds or Attorney Hilyer believe it or not, a court room is a very public place, and it is no place for one to speak out about someone without "factual evidence". I would love nothing more than to upload this information for everyone, but I think higher officials must see it first, and maybe someone will see what is going and stop leaving the "fox in charge of the hen house."
I am certainly glad to hear that....Reynolds does things he thinks no one else can see, but we do...God is with us in many ways and he is watching over us. May Reynolds live to see and be tortured by those he has hurt.
